Not much going on...

Today was a typical day in my recent life. Recent being the last 4 years or so.

Here's my day...

9 AMish Wake up. I rarely get up instead grabbing the remote and tuning to the morning news to see if the world came to an end last night.

10 AM Sit up and check mail. Answer any that needs it. Approve posts for the numerous groups I run and google anything that pops up that particular day. I check a site for the latest news on our soldiers in Iraq. I normally switch over to Court TV and catch their ramblings unless it's about Michael Jackson. God I'm so sick of that shit.

11 AM Switch to The Price Is Right. I always listen to it more than I watch it as I get ready to face the world.

11:40 PM Leaving the house and stopping to get a USA Today on the way to the Waffle House. I've started everyday with a USA Today since its inception in 1981. If they stopped publishing, I'd be lost.

12 PM Arrive at Waffle House. It's not a very happy place for me these days. Since my best friend Keith was deployed to Iraq last fall, the place just isn't the same. I'm not a happy person anymore. I haven't been happy inside in a long time. Somedays I sit at that counter and wonder what the hell I'm doing there. So many gone now that used to make the visits more fun.

3PM I'm always gone by 3. Shift change is at 2 and sometimes I'll stay and talk to some of the gals that work days. Sometimes not. Depends on the moods of everyone. Some days if I stay in there one more second I'll scream.

Home by 4 at the latest after stopping at the store to get supper or snacks.
A carton of cigarettes every other day or so. Gas more often now than before since the price has gone up so and I refuse to buy more at one time.

Once home, it's dvd time. I got a dvr from the cable folks a few months back and a dvd recorder at the same time. What used to be a huge video collection is now in neat little stacks of dvd's. At least now I manage to keep them logged. Heaven only knows what's on most of the video collection of 1000 tapes or so I've got stored away.

At 7 the dvr starts recording all over again. Most nights it collects 3-4 hours of tv that will eventually end up on dvd.

Watching TV, recording dvd's, playing some games, chatting online some and text messageing takes up my nights. I really need a life.

90 days to go...

This started as a dare and I've never been one to turn down a good dare. I think it boils down to some of my demented friends that want nothing more than to see me suffer the next three months. But being the trooper than I am... here goes!

August 21st, 1955

I share this day with several folks that are much more famous than I. The standouts on the list for me are Kim Cattrall of Sex and the City fame (her character and I share a lot of the same morals.. lol), Kenny Rogers, Wilt Chamberlain (who claims to have bedded over 20,000 ladies)and Chris Schenkel.
Mr. Shenkel is a particular standout for me since I've spent many a Saturday afternoon listening to his sports commentary on ABC. His bowling broadcasts in particular are what led me to take up the sport at a young age. X.J Kennedy is a poet that I sometimes had a hard time understanding but loved the hours of trying. Jack Weston a wonderful character actor who passed away in 1996. His most memorable role in my mind was the innkeeper Max Kellerman in Dirty Dancing. Last but not least was Aubrey Beardsley. He was the most controversial artist of the Art Nouveau era, renowned for his dark and perverse images.

Looking over this renowned list makes me proud to have been born on the last day of Leo. It humbles me tremendously to be in the famous company. I know some don't believe in the influence of the stars and the universe but seeing what myself and these people have in common is kinda freaky to me.

I've tried my hand in every single career that they have excelled in. The low self esteem I held for many of my formative years is the reason I cite for not excelling as all of them did. From awkward basketball as a child to DJing as an adult all while preforming daily as an Air Traffic Controller kept me in front of a crowd. I guess that's the reason I took this dare. In its own way, it'll keep me in front of the audience I need to have.

You, my invisible readers, are my audience. You'll notice a comment link at the end of every post contained here. Please use it. Feedback good, bad, or ugly is needed to keep this up.

Share the next 90 days with me. Ride this biological roller coaster through it's ups and downs. It'll be a helluva ride.
